GETTING LIGHTER!!!
This week was my lightest trash load yet!!! I did my weigh-in on Thursday 11/21/19. My garbage bag this week weighed 5.8 pounds... a little lighter than last week. My recycling weighed in at 2.8 pounds!!! That's less than last weeks 3.4 pounds and a vast difference from where I started in week #1 (12.6 pounds). As you'll see in the picture below, I didn't even end up using my usual blue bin to store my recycling this week. I had a couple of small paper Body Shop bags that I was able to fit everything in.
The main thing I did in the past couple of weeks to reduce the amount of recycling I had was to just avoid as much plastic as possible. This started with me giving up drinking my soda water bottles and continued into avoiding any single use plastic when grocery shopping. This has meant giving up some snack foods and some conveniences, but honestly, nothing so far that has been difficult to stop using. It's amazing how just a few small changes can make a large difference. Below is a pic of my recycling... again this week I didn't include a picture of my actual trash bag as it pretty much just looks the same week after week. Thanks again for reading!
<--- 2 small bags... 2.8 pounds total! Yay!
